Taster Day & Mixed Classes – a Message from the Headteacher

Dear parents and carers,

The children had a great Taster Day meeting their new class teacher. You can see how they got on in the photo gallery below (for more, click here to visit the full gallery page).

For some year groups, class changes have enabled them to extend their friendship groups. As I mentioned at our curriculum evening last year, we have mixed up the children in current Years 1, 3 and 5; this is to increase resilience and has proven to be successful.

You will notice on the staff list (accessible here) that Mrs Jenny Knight, Mrs Rebecca Reid and Mrs Kate Brown are missing from the teaching staff and Mrs Elaine Olasz from the LSA list. Mrs Knight and her family are moving to Shropshire and Mrs Reid has taken up another teaching post. Mrs Brown is taking a year’s sabbatical. Mrs Olasz will be retiring this summer after a very long association with Christ Church as both a parent and a member of staff. I am sure you will join me in thanking them all for their hard work and dedication and wish them well in the future.

New to the school next year will be Mrs Sara Taylor who will bring new strengths to the music provision across the school, ensuring it has a key role in the curriculum and life of Christ Church and Mrs Sarah Robinson who is joining the Foundation team. We are looking forward to welcoming them into the Christ Church community.

Although we still have much to look forward to for the rest of this academic year, I would like to thank you all for your continued support and wish you a good summer break.

Yours sincerely,

Neil Baker

Headteacher
