Important Update: Aviva Community Fund

Could you please spare a few minutes to vote for us in the Aviva Community Fund?

FOCCS have had an application for the Aviva Community Fund accepted and now need to drum up some votes before 21st November 2017! We’ve applied for £15,000 to fund a permanent canopy that will enable KS1 to enjoy all-weather outdoor play.

We are proud of the project aims, the school ethos and whole school’s commitment in creating and maintaining a positive and enriching learning environment. We aim high and work hard to achieve our goals, working together to keep making improvements, for the benefit of every child in the school.

Everyone gets 10 votes each. Last year the winners all received over 15,000 votes, so please ask your friends and family to vote for us too! Click here to find us on Facebook and spread the word.

Thank you,

The FOCCS Team

FOCCS stands for Friends of Christ Church School. All parents, teachers, governors, and staff are automatically members. In some other schools, bodies like FOCCS are known as the ‘PTA’.

The aim of FOCCS is to support the school’s ambitions for the education of children at Christ Church in various ways. Many of the activities are directed towards fundraising as well as social events. In addition, we work closely with the Head and Governors.

Through the hard work and support of many parents and carers, we have contributed substantial amounts to the school since we were formed. This has supported both large and small projects like equipping the school library with books, purchasing computers and interactive whiteboards, helping to finance the school’s wonderful vegetable garden, paying for visitors to the school, and funding free clubs for children (to name but a few).

Fundraising

Money for everything mentioned above is raised through several large events such as the May Fayre, Christmas Fayre, and annual Bonfire Night. However, there are also smaller quiz nights for the grown-ups and a film club for children. To find out about the events that we are currently planning, please click here.

FOCCS are continually looking at other opportunities for fundraising, though; to this end, we have established links with different fundraising organisations such as ‘Easy Fundraising’ and ‘My Donate’.  To find out more, please visit our fundraising page.

FOCCS is a registered charity (no: 1014680) so its activities and finances are publicly accountable. FOCCS is managed by a committee of volunteers which is elected every year. The Committee are the Trustees of the charity and are therefore responsible for its work. There are open meetings every term to which all parents, carers, etc are invited. The Committee also meets separately to take work forward.
