PSHE/RSHE

Together

Our PSHE curriculum is accessible to all and ensures that each pupil at Christ Church Primary School will know more, remember more and understand more about playing a positive and successful role within our society, both as a child and as an adult in the future. We aim for all children, regardless of background, ability, or additional needs to flourish to become the very best version of themselves they can possibly be.

Learn

Our whole school approach to PSHE aims to:

  • Support children in their development of knowledge and skills to become successful and confident in themselves;
  • Encourage emotional literacy, helping our children to understand themselves, respect others, and form and sustain healthy relationships;
  • Equip children with the skills and understanding to become healthy, independent and confident individuals with a knowledge of their local, national and global surroundings;
  • Support children in their personal development through a variety of themes each term titled: Being Me in My World, Celebrating Difference (including Anti-Bullying), Dreams and Goals, Healthy Me, Relationships and Changing Me (including Relationships and Sex Education).

Grow

Our holistic, in-depth PSHE curriculum

  • Explore and celebrate personal, cultural and spiritual differences reinforcing respect for each other and those in the wider community;
  • Nurtures and develops physical and mental wellbeing, allowing children to be self-aware of their emotions.

Flourish

Our interesting, enriching PSHE curriculum:

  • Ensures that all children have the confidence to be able to tackle moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up;
  • Encourages our children to continuously develop their self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community;
  • Allows children to have a ready willingness and ability to try new things, push themselves and persevere.
