School’s Council

Christ Church Primary School recognises the importance of the pupil voice and making our pupils part of the decision making process. Councillors are elected by their peers and each class (Y1 to Y6) is represented by two councillors. They meet on a regular basis and then report back to their classes through class council meetings, giving all children some involvement in the decision making process. The School Council has its own bank account and councillors can make choices on which initiatives they would like to support financially.

This year, already, the School Council has been involved in:

  • The recruitment of our new Headteacher
  • Leading Collective Worships for the Harvest Festival and commemorating the life of Queen Elizabeth II
  • Organising a book of condolence to be sent to HM The King
  • Reviewing our School Dinner Menu
  • Selecting the charities to be supported by the school this year.
