Government Funding Options

As our nursery specifically caters for 3 and 4-year-olds, the relevant government funding options for your child are outlined below:

30 Hours Working Family Funding

  • Eligibility: Working families living in England with 3 or 4-year-olds, starting the term after the child’s 3rd birthday until they start school.
  • Criteria: Parents (and partners) must usually be in work or starting a new job, on sick/annual leave, or on shared parental/maternity/paternity/adoption leave.
  • Note: Total funding eligibility depends on parental income and immigration status.

15 Hours Universal Funding

  • Eligibility: All 3 and 4-year-olds living in England.
  • Criteria: Universally available to all children starting the term after their 3rd birthday. This applies regardless of family income levels, benefit status, or individual circumstances.

How to check and apply for your 15 or 30-hour code

If you think you qualify for the 30 Hours Working Family Funding, you must apply online to get your 11-digit eligibility code before your child starts their funded term.

  1. Check Eligibility & Apply: Head to the official GOV.UK Free Childcare Webpage or use the Childcare Choices Website (www.childcarechoices.gov.uk ).
  1. What You Need: Have your National Insurance number, child’s birth date, and employment/income details ready.
  1. Get Your Code: Once approved, HMRC will issue an 11-digit eligibility code inside your digital childcare account.
  1. Submit to School: Bring this 11-digit code, your National Insurance number, and your child’s birth certificate to the nursery office so we can validate it and secure your place.
  1. Keep It Active: Remember to log into your GOV.UK account and reconfirm your details every 3 months, or your working-family funding code will expire.
