When we got back after Christmas, we discovered some CCTV footage of  a penguin roaming around our school. The question is… would Mrs Tudge really let us keep a pet penguin?!

We wrote a setting description about what it was like during the Great Fire of London…

We wrote about why we thought the fire spread so quickly…

Then we used our knowledge about why the fire spread so quickly to think about how we would design London…

Our Visit to Stowford Farm 

In October we went to Stowford Farm for a school trip. We had an amazing day learning about how our food gets to our plates from farms. We helped milk the cows and we toured the farm to see the crops growing.  Then we ground the crops to make flour, and churned the milk to make butter milk and butter in the farm kitchens. Finally we made our own delicious scones using ingredients from the farm. They were delicious!

Our Inspiration Text – The Disgusting Sandwich by Gareth Edwards 

We were horrified to find that someone had spread disgusting sandwich ingredients all around the woods! We needed to work together to find them all and clean up!

After reading The Disgusting Sandwich story, we had great fun creating our own disgusting sandwiches and writing instructions.
